Hermosa Beach's original beachfront hotel has anchored The Strand for decades, welcoming generations of travelers to a stretch of sand that doubles as the property's backyard. The renovation blended the property's 1960s heritage with contemporary coastal luxury — warm woods, soothing color palettes, and natural stone throughout. Guests step straight from their rooms onto The Strand's 22-mile oceanfront path, with Pier Plaza's dining, shopping, and entertainment two blocks away.

Accommodations span the Main Hotel Building and the Beach Flats Building, from intimate studios to expansive oceanfront suites. The Oceanfront King with Juliette Balcony has been a favored choice since the 1960s, offering unobstructed ocean views through two sets of Juliette balconies, heated bathroom tile floors, a double vanity, and a kitchenette. Larger layouts include the 630 sq. ft. Beachlevel Double Queen Suite and the 1,370 sq. ft. Beach House Suite, a three-bedroom ground-level residence with a full kitchen, private porch, and dining for six. Most rooms include a kitchenette with countertop sink, microwave, coffee maker, and minifridge, and premium 300-thread-count linens are standard.

Surfer Girl is the hotel's restaurant and bar, open to the public and located directly on The Strand with an expansive sunset-facing patio. Registered hotel guests receive a complimentary continental breakfast daily from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. The all-day menu runs Tuesday through Friday, 11:00 am to 8:30 pm, with weekend brunch Saturday and Sunday 8:00 am to 2:30 pm and the all-day menu resuming 3:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Closed Mondays. Sea Sprite Beach Club welcomes dogs under 45 pounds, up to two per room, at $75 per pet, per night. The property is strictly dog-friendly — no other pets are accepted — and service dogs are always welcome. Local dogs are welcome on the Surfer Girl patio too, particularly for Yappy Hour every Tuesday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm, with food and drink specials for humans and dogs alike.

The hotel sits two blocks from the Hermosa Beach Pier and Pier Plaza, with Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach minutes away and LAX just 6.5 miles north. Nearby draws include the Round House Aquarium, the Comedy and Magic Club, Seaside Lagoon, and King Harbor, while SoFi Stadium, the Kia Forum, and Intuit Dome are all within reach for events and concerts. The beachfront sundeck and lower patio with fire pits face The Strand's volleyball courts and sunsets.

The property hosts groups of roughly 10 to 130 guests, with room blocks of 10 or more and complete property buy-outs available. Past groups have included weddings, reunions, corporate retreats, and filming shoots. Event spaces include the open-air rooftop lounge with sweeping coastline views for receptions and cocktail hours, and Surfer Girl's ocean-facing patio for seated dinners, group lunches, and rehearsal dinners.
